Your vehicles clutch once depressed, disengages the engine from the drive shaft.
There’s a wide variety of clutches  including  hydraulic and cable but they all do the same basic job.

We can carry out repairs such as cable replacements and adjustments, hydraulic fluid changes, master and slave cylinder replacement and fitting of new clutch plates, thrust bearing and cover plate.

Incorrect wheel alignment or tracking can result in premature and irregular tyre wear and can even affect the handling and roadworthiness of your vehicle. The first thing to do if your car is pulling to one side is to check your tyre pressures and tread depths to make sure it’s not just a tyre low on pressure on one side or bald on the inside.

Although there are many factors that can lead to incorrectly aligned wheels, the most common contributors include driving against a kerb, hitting a pothole in the road or excessive wear to linked components such as steering ball joints such as track rods or suspension.

It is important that your wheel alignment is set to the specification required by your vehicle.

The alignment at which tyres are set is important. Wheel alignment or ‘tracking’ involves checking the direction and angle against vehicle manufacturers’ specifications.
These are often described as toe in, toe out, negative or positive.
Higher fuel consumption as well as excessive tyre wear are a factor of mis-alignment of your wheels.

Never use recycled oil or oil without an API rating as these types of oil are sub standard and will not work as well as. Oil is the only thing that lubricates your engine, without it there would be too much friction and the engine will sieze or lock up as metal expands at different rates. If your oil light come on when driving you must top up immediately.

It is recommended that you should check and recharge your air-con system every 2 to 3 years with gas and lube, in order to keep it running efficiently.  If your car is more than a couple of years old it maybe worth a check.

We ensures that your air-con is working efficiently by testing the gas pressure, a drop in gas pressure will result in a loss of cooling efficiency which will make your engine work harder and in turn use more fuel.

Motor Industry Code of Practice

One of the issues that concern motorcycle riders and
manufacturers alike is the safety of riding. Since
two-wheeled vehicles are less stable than those with three
or more wheels, safety becomes a top priority because of
this.

But there are some ways to keep riders safe when riding
motorcycles. Below are some of them.

1. Wearing protective gear

- this is one of the most basic ways by which riders can
protect themselves while riding their motorcycles.
Protective gear includes a crash helmet, motorcycle
clothing, gloves and boots.

These accessories ensure that the impact of a crash is
lessened. Bright colored clothing is also advised so that
riders will be easily visible to drivers of other vehicles.

2. Checking the bike before riding

- accidents can be prevented by making sure that every
component of the motorcycle works well. This is especially
the case with the brakes and the lights. So before taking
the bike for a ride, they should first be checked.

3. Perform periodic maintenance

- to ensure that the bike is in tip-top condition, owners
should bring it to a certified mechanic to be inspected.
Motorcycles generally need to be maintained more often than
cars, so a regular schedule of trips to the mechanic should
be made and followed by owners.

4. Riding safely

- some motorcycle-riding accidents are caused by
incompetent riders. Observing traffic safety rules like
using signals should therefore be done. By doing this, not
only accidents are prevented but also the hefty fines that
come with traffic violations.

Make sure all your lights are working, you have enough fuel including a bit extra in case you get stuck in a traffic jam. Have look at your tyres and check the tyre pressures, I have seen some folk driving around with almost flat tyres recently and we have had a few comming in wanting the air pumped up as they let the air out so the tyres would grip more when trying to get their cars out of their drives. In theory this does work and can get you out of a sticky or slippery situation HOWEVER I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH that you must replace the air in your tyres as soon as you are unstuck and not wobble your way to the nearest airline! So it may be a good idea to get a tyre foot pump or one that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. have a look at the washer bottle and topup with a screenwash as this will prevent it freezing and leaving you with a smeared window that you can hardly see out of.

Take a blanket, some food and water and if you think it may be really bad take a shovel. Think about buying a portable potty or something you can have a pee in! Nowt worse than being stuck in a traffic jam and your busting for a pee. I mean you can’t just jump out and have one at the side of the road if your a lady.

Winter safety checks on your car

Incorrectly inflated tyres will greatly shorten your tyres lifespan, can increase fuel consumption and even make your car or motorcycle unsafe to drive. It is therefore important to keep your tyres at the correct pressure.

To ensure you get the best performance and mileage out of your tyres you should check the tyre pressures at least every two weeks when the tyres are cold, the air inside your tyres becomes warmer after the car has been driven, this will cause the pressures to increase, and will give a higher reading than may be expected.

If you have a heavy load in your vehicle, it will be necessary to increase your tyre pressures accordingly, as per the manufacturers recommendations.
